Schoolhouses of Thunder Butte
When my dad was growing up around Thunder Butte, kids living in the area attended one room schoolhouses. Dad went to the Beehive school beginning about age five. Little or nothing probably remains of the Beehive school today. However, when I was in the area in March, I did photograph a couple of old schoolhouses not far from the butte (see below). Today, these schoolhouses are abandoned with windows broken out, and falling into ruin.
